GemCare Wellness Announces the 2023 Recipient of Susan Raber-Satterfield Award Awardee: Emily McLaughlin

Hudson, OHIO, January 9, 2024 – GemCare Wellness (GCW), a national health coaching and disease management company, is proud to announce Emily McLaughlin as the recipient of the 2023 Susan Raber-Satterfield Coach of the Year award. This prestigious accolade is named in honor of the late Susan Raber-Satterfield, whose visionary leadership profoundly influenced the clinical direction and operations of GemCare Wellness.

Raber-Satterfield was the first hire for GemCare Wellness. She began her career there as an Engagement Services Manager in August 2012 and was promoted to Director of Operations in June 2015.

The Coach of the Year award, presented annually to a health coach exemplifying Satterfield’s skills, considers factors such as the quality of interaction with program members, the success rate of members in achieving their health and lifestyle goals, and the ability to inspire lasting lifestyle changes.

This year’s recipient, Registered Dietitian and health coach, Emily McLaughlin earned her degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Bowling Green State University, followed by a master’s degree in Nutritional Science. Beginning her journey with GemCare Wellness in 2017, McLaughlin has always gone above and beyond for her members while keeping a positive attitude.

Emily has displayed all the qualities we look for in awarding this honor. She brings a professional yet personable touch to everyone she interacts with. Her spirit, quality of work, and compassion are second to none among our amazing staff. She shows a desire to assist people grow in self-confidence as they work to reach their personal health goals. In 2023 she demonstrated everything we want our staff to represent when interacting with our members.

GemCare Wellness’ health coaches play a crucial role in identifying obstacles and motivators to help members adopt lasting lifestyle habits that significantly impact their overall health. The health coaching program, led by Registered Dietitians, addresses various issues such as weight management, prediabetes, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and more. Dietitians also work with members on nutritional counseling who wish to enhance their athletic performance through guidance on diet and exercise.

GemCare Wellness’ Parent Company Named a Weatherhead 100 Centurion Again

Weatherhead 100 Centurion Award Hudson, OHIO – December 8, 2022 – GEMCORE™, a family of companies, has been named a Weatherhead 100 Centurion company for a third consecutive time by Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
